A disappointment of the weekend was that well-known Basingstoke singer Tanita Tikaram, who was billed in the festival programme as being on the Main Stage on Sunday, did not appear due to a booking mix-up which was no fault of the artist.

Councillor Keith Chapman, Cabinet member for sport and leisure, said: "This resulted from an error made by the event company who were employed by the council to organise the event, including all booking of artists. Nevertheless, we apologise to the artist involved for any embarrassment caused and to the people who had hoped to see Tanita perform for any inconvenience this error may have caused them."

I HOPE THE CONCERT PROMOTERS WHO WERE AT FAULT ALSO APOLOGISED TO TANITA AS WELL!!!

TANITA HAS GIVEN MANY, MANY CONCERTS BEFORE AND I CANNOT THINK OF ONE SHE EVER MISSED--NATTY AND DAVE WOULD KNOW THE BEST, HOWEVER.  SHE EVEN STILL PERFORMED ONCE WHEN SHE HAD A PRETTY BAD COLD IF I RECALL RIGHT, BLESS HER SOUL...
