THIS IS ANOTHER STORY THAT GIVES CREEDANCE TO MARTIN'S THEORY OF JUST LET THE TANITA MUSIC SINK IN WHEN YOU PLAY IT FOR OTHER PEOPLE.

WHEN I WAS IN MY CAR ONE TIME, I HAD MUSIC PLAYING AND ON A CD I BURNED THERE WAS THE SONG "LOVERS IN THE CITY."  A NEW FRIEND WAS BESIDE ME AND HE SAID "I KNOW THAT SONG, IT IS INCREDIBLE, WHO IS IT?, I NEED TO GET IT."  I TOLD HIM ALL ABOUT TANITA AND GUIDED HIM TO HARMONY RIDGE MUSIC TO BUY THE BEST OF TT.

HE TOLD ME IT TURNED OUT TO BE ONE OF HIS FAV CD'S!!

Well i show to few friends youtube videos of Tanitas work (let's thank god for youtube:).

First i say to them that they don't know TT (they never know) but they know for sure her hit from 88 "Twist in my sobriety". Here goes link  http://youtube.com/watch?v=12LFc9ANdms and I make a speech how Tanita was 18 when she write text and music for this song. Of coure they are like " i know this song and really like it and fact that she was 18 when she made this song is just wow". Then i give them link to "Stop listening" http://youtube.com/watch?v=oGxDxfIBMdU and make another speech how in 98 Tanita was in sopot festival (i'm from Poland:) and the same year The Cappuccino Songs were published and Tanita were promoting this album in Poland either. To tell you the truth from 5 persons who pass this ritual 2 of them ask me to copy them my Ancient Heart cd (yeah i know it's illegal and bad but if i wouldn't do this they would download it from torrents or just forget about TT...). They like the album but i don't think they would ever buy any other TT cd. But then again 1 person who pass the ritual after week gave me youtube link to "I don't wanna lose at love" saying that he really likes now Tanita Tikaram and he will buy her CD and want to experience more of her music. That's my success i must say:)

I THINK THIS STORY IS INTERESTING MYSTERY.  THERE ARE SOME OF MY FRIENDS WHO "GET THE TANITA THING" AFTER THEY HEAR PARTICULAR SONGS.  I AM GLAD THAT HAPPENED FOR YOUR FRIEND. 

TANITA DEFINITELY HAS A VARIETY OF MUSICAL STYLES ON PARTICULAR ALBUMS AND SOME PEOPLE RLEATE TO CERTAIN STYLES MORE THAN OTHERS.  FOR ME TT'S VOICE REMAINS A STRONG CONSTANT WITH A HIGH QUALITY OF SONG WRITING, THE ABILITY TO TAKE MUSICAL RISK AND A TRUE MUSICALITY.
