Anyone else hooked on that genre? If so, what styles/artists/songs would you recommend to wind down to or whatever? Here's my selection.

Top styles: Bebop, West Coast, Bossa Nova

Top artists: Stan Getz, Dizzy Gillespie, Dave Brubeck, Paul Desmond, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Herbie Mann, Ahmad Jamal

Top songs:
Take Five, Take Ten

Hope to keep this thread going.

Did you know that Paul Desmond actually played (the solo) on Brubeck's version of Take Five? And later on after it turned out to be a great hit Desmond recorded the album Take Ten as a sequel to Take Five? Take Ten is pretty much similar in arrangement to Take Five, but slightly different too.

Same but different... does that make any sense? Mmmm.

Sure it makes sense.  :)

I'm a total nitwit as far as jazz is concerned, but I've always loved music with a jazzy

Great selections Striving Wolf and PATRYK.

Has anyone heard of Patricia Barber? especially her live album called Companion? I'd like to experience that much intimacy during a Tanita show. Worth a listen (or two!). Also the kind of "less means more" instrument arrangement where percussion coupled with the bass and Patricia's voice is more than you'd expect of a jazz show.
