Phuh, looking the picture of Angel's Lovers in the City records makes my whole Tanita collection look so small..

It's an amazing album, Lover in the City. It's the second one I heard, after getting to know Tanita when I heard her Cappuccino Songs. There's no bad song on the album and even after listening to it million times there's always something new to find.

Hi!

Love you collection Angel!  We did recognise the 'rare' TT picture though. It is from the Ancient Heart period and appeared if I'm correct in a UK magazine. We have it somewhere amongst our bits and pieces but no time to find it now!! Was it Q magazine by any chance?! Also remember that TT explained the bits and pieces in the interview/article which was nice to read!

Cheers

Hi! Natty are you sure it's from Ancient Heart period? Tanita has short hair, so maybe it could be Everybody's Angel period. I could be wrong and I really don't know, but take a look to a closer one:

What do people think about it? By the way, I want to see your collection of Lovers in the City!!!!!!!!!!!! :o

Looks to be around 1991 (Everybody's Angel).  Possibly 91-93.

From the churchyard into your trust
To the talk that we must, we must rekindle
To the way I want you
To the way I don't want nothing from you
You know the soul of a man is many coloured
Soul of a man one to another
Wants you another day

THANKS ANGEL FOR BRINGING BACK ALL THE MEMORIES OF LOVERS IN THE CITY.  IT IS SUCH AN INCREDIBLE MUSICAL WORK AND I WILL PUT IT ON IN MY CAR AND SING.  IT WILL BE A DIVERSION FROM SENTIMENTAL (BTW, I PLAYED SENTIMENTAL 3 TIMES TODAY)!  THE PHOTOGRAPHY OF TANITA WAS VERY "HOT" FOR THE SINGLES FROM LITC!

BIG LOVE, PATRYK

THE PICTURE OF TANITA AT HOME WAS FROM AN INTERVIEW WITH HER IN HER HOME IN SOME PUBLICATION. IT TALKED ABOUT THINGS SHE HAD IN HER PLACE.   I WILL HAVE TO LOOK IT UP BECAUSE I HAVE IT SOMEWHERE.

I kinda like that zoo thing, it's really cute. Have you noticed the photos on the wall are the same as in Yodelling Song video?

Yeah, great picture. And the photo on the wall with Ramon :) I noticed on "Sentimental" that Tanita thanked her mammy and daddy but no word for her brother. Seems bit strange

Hi!

Yes ,you might be right about the period Angel. Dave's memory seems to recall it was from a UK magazine with one of the weekend newspapers (sunday Times?!). As said before it is somewhere in the mountain of TT cuttings so maybe Patrick could find is copy and shed a light on this?
I also like the animals and I'm sure our Rebecca would like to go round to TT's and have a play!!

Cheers Nathalie

Hi all
Yes, the cutting turned up eventually. it is from an article entitled "Room of my own" from one of the Sunday Newspaper Magazines who ran a series with celebs discussing their rooms. Unfortunately it was too big to fit in a file without being trimmed so the name of the newspaper has gone! The writer was Ena kendall and the photographer John Freeman.
It is much later than we thought. The last paragraph refers to "Eleven Kinds of Loneliness"as having "just come out"
TT's final comment is "I find the idea of role models odd. people are themselves, they should live with themselves".

keep on rockin'  :D

I absolutely love "Lovers In The City", though "Eleven Kinds..." remains my favourite. "Lovers In The City" is one of the most intimate, mood-creating and powerful albums I have ever heard, listening to it at night (and especially at night - taking a 'happy taxi' ride with all those lights of the city passing by) brings me a lot of wonderful emotions and memories.

As for me - it's flawless. :)
