I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread with reviews of "Sentimental". I've just found two: the first one is in French, and is to be found here:

Hi

I found a review too last week on a Belgian website for students and will try and find it back (just printed a had copy). The review was very positive indeed (after AH Tanita used to get bad press in my home country so hoorah to this!!) and made me happy!! The content is very similar to any other posted to the  Community Site from other countries. Will try and do the translation soon but busy with other work now.

What does surprise me a lot is that the Swedish TV appearance seems to be the only one we have heard about ... what about all the other European countries?!

Watch this space for the I might be crying video too! Dave just ordered a DVD recorder so we'll put all our TT stuff on disks now. I am watching a Canon 8400F scanner on Ebay so we're nearly there!!!

Hi!

Promise to put the two reviews on soon (probably over the weekend). Nice to read another good Belgian one in French. Other two I found are from Flemish speaking Belgian journalists!

Anyone seen any TV or nice articles in the press?!

Lsitening to Nanci Griffith in the car at present... seeing her live next week!

Cheers

Hi there - just registered as a new member. I have been visiting this site as a guest recently but I guess no time like now to join - exciting!!

Amsterdam news paper Het Parool had a small review of Sentimental last Tuesday. I will translate it soon. A snippet of the article can be found here (in Dutch though)

Here's another link in German :

http://www.edel.at/index.php3?id=pop&n_id=2435

Below the article you can read that Tanita did some promo
work on the German channel ZDF and WDR ...
If I only had known this sooner , then I could keep an eye out on these channels !
The article is from 10.03.2005 so she'll probably have done this already ...
Bummer ...

Hi

Keep searching Polish detectives!! And yes Eric shame about the German TV etc. Think I saw that one too last week but here we can't get these channels!! Oooh dear... what do I wish now that I'm in Belgium and can have the wealth of TV channels!!!!!

Made me smile the bit about TT having sold 9 million albums(Amsterdam newspaper). Just like the Swedish interview where they said 40 million and TT said "I wouldn't be here if that was the case!!".

Patka, I agree about 'real' news and Sev but hey there is now an official website and TT IS BACK SO THERE IS STILL HOPE!!!

We are really hoping that all the press in the UK is so positive as the rest of Europe! It is great to read the reviews now... not one negative one yet and why should there ... THE ALBUM IS GREAT. But....haven't received my copies yet from Holland.. :(

Cheers

Natty, 9 million copies could well be true. In 1998, before TCS was out, they mentioned (roughly) 7 million albums, which included 4 million copies of Ancient Heart, and almost 2 million copies of The Sweet Keeper. And that was 7 years ago.

At any rate, I think that anyone who has sold 9 million copies worldwide deserves a good manager and a much better website than www.tanita-tikaram.com.

I guess it's Jim's (or whatever his name is) first. Be easy on him. ;)
But in all honesty I can't believe it's called official.

But in all honesty I can't believe it's called official.

I suspect that TT's official managment doesn't know which page is the most "official", either. In the V2 promos they continuously refer to Morten's www.tanitatikaram.com site as the official one, too. I wonder whether Morten is aware that the website he created 7 years ago under the name "The Cappuccino Singer" is now the official website. Or at least one of the official ones.

Perhaps we could call this page "The Official Tanita Tikaram Community", given that apparently any TT-website can be more or less official these days? ;D

i like the look of www.tanita-tikaram.com  i think it it just needs a chance to grow with content.  the design is okay, functional etc.

i've been a web page designer in the past and is hard work to (1) plan it (2) get it going and (3) keeping it fresh.  it's certainly the best effort i've seen from the official side of things.  do you remember when she was with Mother, and there was hardly anything web-based at all for TT?

the one thing that does concern me, is the way Tanita's activities and promotional work is not displayed, so that fans can keep track.  she tends to do a lot of low key promotion, and i always have a feeling that she could be on some cable channel right now and i'm not seeing it.  :-[

To the way I want you
To the way I don't want nothing from you

Soul of a man one to another
Wants you another day

I totally agree! I'm also missing the realy important information about Concerts, TV appearences, and other issues, which I expected to be publiced on her website.
