we will try and load the file(s) with the new tracks from Sentimental this weekend!!!!

WOW! Natty, please hurry ;)

A bit of technical advice on how to post the tracks would be ok though! Shall we post to the Community Page or Ftp site (still not familiar with this!!)

You may use any FTP programme, I found FTP Commander (which is free btw) to be working perfectly, it even resumes ul/dl.

Please don't forget to rush to the shops too when the single/album comes out!!!!!!!!!

Can't be otherwise.

THIS ALBUM IS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!!

Thank you Natty for sharing the sounds, I can't wait till I actually grab my copy! I think this is surely by far THE BEST Tanita sound I have ever heard. Wonderful lyrics, amazing mood, laidback-jazzy-mellow-WOW!
I hope she is going to continue venturing in that direction in the years to come. I think she's managed to surprise us all in this absolutely unexpected way. I wasn't quite expecting to be so hooked on this new album.

PS. Tanita - excellent! Great work! :)

 :)Hi!

No problem... happy to be sharing.. that's what this list is all about and of dear where would we be without the internet!!!
Yes, thee new album sounds great and we keep on playing it voer and over again...ooops our daugher likes the more upbeat dancy TT songs and wants the CD out of the machine now and her Shrek DVD on!!!

TT seems to have gone 'back to her roots' although the arrangements with lots of piano are new for her. Guess with her learning to play the piano she wanted to show us all how wel she can play!! And she did so on Swedish TV!!
It is an album full of emotions and just the kind of tunes to listen to again tonight when having a glass of wine!!!!!!!!!!!!!

KEEP LISTENING & ENJOY!!!!!

Oh dear, I truly did not expect this album is gonna be that... different... No opinions for-sure from me now. I need to listen to it a bit, but I'm not optimistic about it.

As for me something is missing.

Thank you very much for sharing!!! :)

TO ME THE ALBUM IS A FANTASTIC BREAKTHROUGH!  HERE ARE SOME INTITIAL THOUGHTS.

TANITA IS USING DEEPER VOCAL TECHNIQUES SUCH AS MORE CONCERTED PAUSES FOR EFFECT AND STRONGER REPEAT PHRASES.  I LOVE THE USE OF REAL AND CLASSICAL INSTRUMENTS WHICH ARE INTEGRATED THROUGHOUT.  SENTIMENTAL IS HEAVILIY PIANO BASED AND I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED TT'S VOICE WITH THE PIANO (THINK OF VALENTINE HEART ON THE FIRST ALBUM).  THE FACT SHE NOW PLAYS PIANO IS SPLENDID ALSO!

I ALSO THINK LOVE IS JUST A WORD IS ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BALLADS SHE HAS EVER WRITTEN AND SUNG.  INCREDIBLY MOVING!

HERE ARE SOME INFLUENCES I AM HEARING ON SONGS:
--PLAY ME AGAIN:  VERY MUCH REMINDS ME OF A NINA SIMONE JAZZ ARRANGEMENT

--DON'T SHAKE ME UP:  THIS WILL SEEM STANGE, BUT THE RIFF REMINDS ME OF WHAT SPRINGSTEEN DID IN TUNNEL OF LOVE

--EVERYDAY IS NEW:  (THIS ONE GETS IN YOUR HEAD--I HAVE BEEN HUMMING IT)  I GET THE FEELING OF A BURT BACHRACH ARRANGEMENT--I THINK OF DIONNE WARWICK AND THE CARPENTERS

--DON'T LET THE COLD:  I AM HEARING A STEELY DAN PIANO INFLUENCE.  IT MAKES ME WANT TO HEAR THEM AGAIN!

--GOT TO GIVE YOU UP:  REMINDS ME OF NINA SIMONE AND THE BLUES

KEEP LISTENING NIGHTRAVEN--I BET IT GROWS A LOT ON YOU!!   PATRYK

I listen to it all the time - and I can't stop! I think I'll be the first person in Cracow's "MusicCorner", who'll buy the CD. :) Of course if my cash allows. :D

I'm just a poor student.

But I think it's worth it all... by the way, some previous albums look pretty gray after "Sentimental", don't you think?

PS. Somebody please give me directions to new lyrics from Senitimental !!!

Amazing. Really amazing. After waiting a new album for so long, from any artist, there's always a possibility that you expect more of it than the album then gives.. But it didn't happen with Sentimental, instead Tanita showed her skill in song writing and performing songs again. And I'm in love, I'm listening to the songs, red-eared already, but I can't stop. And I wouldn't even want to. ;D I can't get enough of Tanita's voice...
I must say that I think it's great that an artist uses real instruments when recording an album. I know nothing of album making, but it seems it's easier to use machines, since so many artists do that nowadays. Me no like, for I think real instruments sound so much better.

Hi

Yes Gerrit..I am a bit puzzled by the release dates too. I have asked lots of my contacts abroad about the single 'Don't Let the Cold' and somebody seems to know when it'll be out?!
But ... i never take NO for an answer so I'll keep you all posted on that one!!!

Patrick, I totally agree on your views of 'Love is Just a Word' ... it moves me every time I hear it!!! In fact the whole album is soooo full of emotions. It was great to hear Nick Lowe on the album too. I saw him years ago performing with Little Village in Lonodn and it was a great show!!! Hope he will be performing with TT during some of the concerts... later this year?!?!
Has anyone seen other press on the new album?! Seems strange that there would have been only the Swedish TV appearance! I asked friends back in Belgium and emailed some of the TV people there but emails received were negative, no TV there. Maybe the French fans can help out here as TT should have done some French promotional work this week?!?!

THE SONG "MY LOVE" IS A TORCH SONG!

I ALWAYS WANTED TO HEAR TANITA DO JAZZ, BLUES AND TORCH.  WE HAVE THEM ALL ON THIS ALBUM!!

SENTIMENTAL IS ECLECTIC AND COHESIVE AT THE SAME TIME.  WHAT A NICE COMBINATION...
